Cats Keep Lost Baby Safe in Argentina.
There are lots of stories about dogs protecting children or even raising them in the wild like the little wolf boy found in Russia several years ago. However, another strange story has come out of Argentina involving a different animal watching over a child – a colony of stray cats.
One day, a policeman came upon an odd scene by a canal in Argentina. He suddenly noticed what appeared to be a small child about a year old lying by the canal surrounded by a bunch of cats. The cats were lying on and around the boy, and gently licking him as if to wash off all the dirt.
When he walked over to investigate, the cats growled and hissed at him, and it appeared they were protecting the boy, as well as keeping him warm. There was also evidence they had been bringing the boy bits of food they had collected and placed around him.
The boy’s father was a homeless man who told police his son had wandered off while he was looking for cardboard to sell. He said his son had always had a very strong bond with the local stray cats.
The boy was fine, just dirty and he and the cats are doing just fine. So, look out Fido, it appears that you have some competition in the man’s best friend department – a colony of stray cats in Argentina. Good Fluffy!
